Crest Wins Showroom of the Year Award

DALLAS – June 22, 2017 – Dallas Market Center and Lighting & Décor magazine announced the winners of the eighth annual Showroom of the Year Awards during June Lightovation – Dallas International Lighting Show, June 21-24. The announcement was made during a special evening reception on June 21, the show’s opening day.
One Showroom of the Year was named in each of three dollar-volume categories: annual Revenue Under $2 Million, Revenue Under $5 Million, and Revenue $5 Million and Over. All Showroom of the Year finalists were also eligible for three specialty awards: Outstanding Merchandising Display, Exceptional Community Involvement, and Social Media Star.
“It was an exciting evening, peers congratulating each other and celebrating another year of award-winning creativity and innovation” said Nicole Bowling, editor-in-chief of Lighting & Decor, who presented awards along with Managing Editor Alison Martin, Dallas Market Center president and CEO Cindy Morris, and Vice President of Lighting Technology Development & Marketing Laura Van Zeyl.
A range of design, retail, and industry experts judged and selected the 2017 finalists and winners. This year’s judges were Pamela N. Danziger, columnist, market researcher, and author of seven books, including Shops That POP! 7 Steps to Extraordinary Retail Success; Mary Mazzeffi, retail visual display designer and two-time Christmas decorator for the White House; and Linley Paske and Lauren Pasqualone, social media “entertrainers” and co-owners of the marketing firm LP2 Boutique Agency.
The 2017 Showroom of the Year winners are:
Revenue Under $2 Million: Lighting Design Center at Warshauer Electric, Tinton Falls, New Jersey
Revenue Under $5 Million: Ferguson Enterprises, Clive, Iowa
Revenue $5 Million and Over: Lightology, Chicago, Illinois
Outstanding Merchandising Display: WaterPlace, Crown Point, Indiana
Exceptional Community Involvement: Crest Lighting, New Lenox, Illinois
Social Media Star: Montreal Lighting & Hardware, Montreal, Quebec
