The Grid is Evolving- Don’t Get Left in the Dark

Finally! An easy to understand Infographic that explains in layman’s terms how the US Grid(s) work. It’s pretty amazing when you stop and think about how a system designed at the end of the 19th century has stood up to over 100 years of explosive growth.

But that was then, and this is now. As we look towards powering the 21st century, Smart Grid, Micro Grid, and Super Grid technology will give new life to existing infrastucture and enable seamless transitions to next generation equipment and standards.

Interoperability will surely play a critical role in the development of a new system that will carry us through the next century. To that end, The Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) has announced the release of a new Smart Grid Standard.

Switchgear equipment manufacturers like Eaton and GE are rolling out new products and services to help connect customers to improved Grids.

GE is taking an impressively holistic approach with business units focused on Grid Solutions, Energy Connections, Current by GE, and their Predix Platform.

GE Industrial has a complete portfolio of Electrical Distribution products. For help figuring out which products are right for your next project, contact the Switchgear team at Paramont EO.
